Fees and Insurance
Straightforward and transparent from the start.
Reaching out for therapy is already a big step.
Paying for it shouldn’t feel confusing on top of that.
I’m an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly.
Instead, you pay for sessions upfront and may be reimbursed by your plan.
A lot of my clients still get a meaningful portion of their sessions covered. I’ll help you understand what that actually looks like for you.
Fees
Initial Intake (60 mins): $200
Individual Therapy (45-53 mins): $175
Extended Sessions (60 mins): $200
Group Therapy: $100 per session (discounts available)
Using Insurance (Out-of-Network Benefits)
If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you may be reimbursed for part of each session.
The simple version:
You pay for sessions at the time of service
Your insurance pays you back for a portion
Many plans reimburse somewhere between 50–80% after your deductible is met, but it varies.
If you’re not sure what your plan covers, we can figure that out together before you start.
Thrizer
A simpler way to use your insurance
I partner with Thrizer to make this process feel a lot less overwhelming.
Instead of paying the full session fee and waiting weeks for reimbursement, Thrizer can:
Let you pay only your estimated portion (similar to a copay)
Submit claims to your insurance for you
Handle the back-and-forth so you don’t have to
In many cases, once your deductible is met, you’re only paying your portion at each session instead of the full fee upfront.
You can absolutely choose not to use Thrizer. Some clients prefer to handle reimbursement on their own, and that works just as well.

Common Questions About Fees and Insurance
-
You pay for sessions at the time of service.
From there, your insurance may reimburse you for a portion of the cost, depending on your plan. This usually kicks in after you meet your deductible.
Some clients prefer to submit claims themselves using a superbill. Others use Thrizer so they don’t have to deal with any of that.
-
It depends on your specific plan.
If you have out-of-network benefits, many plans reimburse 50–80% of the session fee after your deductible is met.
With Thrizer, you may only pay your estimated portion upfront instead of the full fee.
If you want, I can help you estimate this before you start so there are no surprises.
-
Your deductible is the amount you need to pay out of pocket before your insurance starts reimbursing you.
For example, if your deductible is $1,000, you would pay the full session fee until you’ve reached that amount. After that, your insurance begins covering a percentage.
-
No.
Thrizer is just an option if you want things to feel easier and more predictable.
Some clients like having everything handled for them and prefer to pay closer to a copay each session. Others are fine submitting claims themselves.
Both options work.
-
Yes.
If you’re not using Thrizer, I can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
-
You’re still welcome to work with me.
In that case, sessions would be private pay at the rates listed above. Some clients choose this for the added privacy and flexibility.
-
All major credit and debit cards are accepted.
HSA and FSA cards can also be used.
